Fake-news detection hackathon
A hackathon-winning Django application for text classification, with recurrent-model prediction and retraining code.

Overview
Putting text classification in front of users
This first-place UpGrad hackathon project connects a news-text classifier to a Django web application. Users can submit text through an interface instead of interacting directly with a model or notebook.
The project explores how a language-processing model becomes part of a usable application. Its prediction is a classification signal, not an independent determination that a claim is true or false.
Technical detail
TensorFlow handles text preprocessing, sequence padding, and recurrent-model prediction. The classification module also includes retraining functions.
Django routes and templates connect the model workflow to the web interface, bringing input handling, inference, and result presentation into one application.
